60 days people. 60 days until I have to squeeze into a wedding dress and actually manage to walk, breathe, converse, and possibly even eat. This past weekend I had my final wedding dress fitting (eek!) and while it was awesome, it was also a little horrifying. The dress fits, I can zip it up just fine and walking is easy…but breathing is another story. I have been told it’s normal to not be able to fully breathe in, it’s what keeps all my lady parts inside the dress, but holy cow.
So today marks the start of my next fitness-filled 60 days. I am going to run like it’s my job. I’m going to run so I can eat an extra burrito on our wedding day (yes, we are having a 200-person burrito bar at our wedding complete with 6 pounds of queso). I’m going to run to release tension and ease stress. I’m going to run to hopefully clear up my eczema covered skin which has taken a turn for the worse due to some recent stress. I’m going to run because I can’t believe how far off of the wagon I have fallen. I used to workout 5 days a week, and now I think I’ve worked out twice in the past month. Ugh.
I can’t wait to feel the burn, and hopefully be able to take a nice deep breath on our wedding day in 2 months. Lord knows I will need it with all the excitement and overwhelming feelings that will be sure to surface.
Also, my 9-month pregnant sister has hit the gym about 10 times as much as I have lately. No excuses.
Eeeee! š You had me at “burrito”.
I had a lace-up dress so I wasn’t too worried…just figured I’d loosen it if I needed to!
My husband’s tuxedo button got all snug after dinner. He just looked at me and said, “It’s the hardest button to button..” and made puppy eyes and I kind of wanted to marry him again!
Oh my gosh, I obviously don’t even know your husband but that made me just go “awwwwwwww.” Sometimes they can be so dang cute when they don’t even know it.
…And now you know why I got married in jeans!
Best wishes for your big day.
My advice: delegate. A LOT!
haha jeans, eh?! Smart lady! Although jeans can also be hard to fit into when one has packed on a few pounds, haha! Where did you get married? Sounds like a cool, chill wedding!
And yes, I’m working on the delegating! The hard part is at this point I don’t even know what I need help with. People are being so generous and offering help, but I don’t know what to tell them half the time hah!

Good Luck!
I loved your post!!! Thank you for sharing! I think it is awesome that you did what YOU want to do, that’s what it’s all about! If you didn’t picture yourself in the big frilly dress, then why do it? Very cool.
I bet they will have to do a last minute fitting because you lose even more! I bet you will end up signing up for a few 5Ks before the year is over!! Count me in by the way!! So happy for you to get back into the groove!!!
Aww thank you, Bridget!! I cannot wait to go in and try it on again in February. Hopefully it will be perfect! I seem to have forgotten how much my body loves running because after running 2 miles on the treadmill last night, I have hit my weight loss goal this morning!! Since last year, down 16 pounds. I am SO excited.
Still going to keep running though. In fact, I am going to hit the gym on the morning of the wedding, I made a little promise to myself š You can join if you like! ⤠Your encouragement means the world to me!
Wooo! I know you can do it and you are going to look beautiful and fit on your wedding day! š
Thank you!!! š
Good luck! I can’t think of any better motivation than being able to breathe in a wedding dress motivation.
Thanks, Rosie! Yes, it is pretty powerful motivation! It already looks fine, I just want it to feel comfortable so I’m not thinking about each breath. I’ll get there!
60 days is official freak-out time. Good for you, getting back to your running. I hope that helps. I’m not a runner, but exercising in general helps me when I’m stressed.
If you ever feel like you’re going to fall off the “wagon” and dive face first into a pile of truffles, call me. I will suffer for you, so that you can breathe on your big day. Because I’m incredibly selfless like that…
Yep, I think you are right. I cannot IMAGINE how it is going to feel when I hit like 15 or 10 days. It’s got to be so overwhelming/exciting! The gym last night was awesome! Did 2 miles on the treadmill and some free weights and I already feel so much better. Skin has already started to clear up too, so weird. I think I’m going to set a minimum of 2 miles a day and see how that works. Are you a runner? Have youe ever been?
And also, yeah wow…you are so kind. Maybe every time I’m having a craving you can indulge instead. Although you may be 350 pounds by March, I hope you’re okay with that.
Good luck! You will do it! Wedding dress motivation is the best kind! š
Thanks for your encouragement! Yeah, it is a pretty big motivator haha! Not many times in life do you stand up in front of 200 people who are all there to see you, all there watching you. EEK!
You’re going to have to run even harder so you can eat a burrito for me. š
Done and done! Maybe I can fit in 3 burritos before popping!
Thanks for the shoutout! I’m so excited to be up there next to you. Also, I have to hit the gym, trying to get this baby out! The sooner Hailey is out, the sooner I can work on losing the 35 extra pounds to fit in my bridesmaid dress eek!!!
You just amaze me with how you handle these different situations you’re in! You watch three babies all day then go to the gym for an hour, you are a huuuge inspiration (regardless of why you are going haha). I can’t WAIT for March and can’t wait to have you by my side as we officially bring twink into the familly š
Also 35 pounds in order to fit into the dress?? AHHH! You can do it! If not…we can find another dress for you lol š
You can do it! š
Thank you, I think I can too! Looking forward to the challenge!
