Reentry: A Love Poem

Last night I attended a poetry workshop on writing love poems– it’s focus was on writing love poems that aren’t grandiose, sappy, saccharine, etc. It was a fun conversation with some fellow women whose wordsmithing impressed and inspired me.

I imagine I’ll keep playing with the piece I started during the workshop, but for now, here’s Reentry. Remembering a date from a while back with my love.

  1. Hi, I have trouble imagining that you will have problems finishing the poem you began in the workshop. My skepticism is based on all the previous work I’ve read and on this “lovely” piece, Reentry. You have a wonderful way of taking us “there” with you. I could almost smell the marinara sauce cooking in the kitchen!!! Thanks for letting us join you.
