Frozen Yogurt Dots

Frozen yogurt is one of my weaknesses. I even considered opening my own frozen yogurt business for awhile, but then realized how detrimental that would be to my hips and my wallet. Apparently you can’t make money off of a business if you are eating all of your own goods, bummer. Self-control is something that goes right out the window as soon as I step foot into a self-serve froyo bar, I just LOVE it. You know the giant cups they have available, intended for a small family to share? I have eaten two of those in one sitting. Problem.

So when I saw this “recipe” on Pinterest yesterday for frozen yogurt dots, I had to immediately go home and make them. Picture a hybrid of frozen yogurt/dippin dots. Need I say more?

The process of making them is so quick and easy, it doesn’t even require words:

I made them with Chobani Peach Yogurt and they turned out great!! I do think that if you used regular Yoplait or something non-Greek they would taste a little more like dessert, as Greek yogurt can taste really thick. Seriously, try these. They are my new favorite snack, and healthy too!

Those of you with babies/kids, I bet these would be a huge hit. I’ll have my sister try them out on my 9-month old nephew and let you know how it goes. If he was born with the froyo obsession gene like his Aunt Co, then it may be a good idea to buy some stock in yogurt soon. 🙂

  1. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess
I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say,
I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger
but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips
for novice blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.

  2. Hey! Someone in my Facebook group shared this site with us so
I came to look it over. I’m definitely enjoying the
information. I’m bookmarking and will be tweeting this to my followers!
Excellent blog and wonderful design and style.

    • Hi there,
I have subscribed your email address to my blog, you just need to find the email in your inbox from WordPress and click “confirm subscription”! Thanks so much!

  3. I LOVE frozen yoghurt too. Especially peach with crushed granola as the topping. A long time ago there used to be vending machines in malls selling cups of ice cream dots. Those were yum too.

    • Mmmm peach and granola, one of my favorites too! The ice cream dots sounds like Dippin’ Dots, was it something different from that? I remember they used to call them the “icea cream of the future”, haha guess not! It’s too bad, they were tasty!

    • To be honest I haven’t had the opportunity to freeze them because they are normally gone within minutes of making them! I would think that you could freeze them as dots and they would be just fine. As long as your commute to work isn’t too far!

  4. And here’s another creepy similarity – I am not a huge ice cream fan (my husband is) but I am OBSESSED with self-serve tart froyo!! Go figure. Here in LA my fav is Yogurtland – but I’ll seriously take any of them. I too have eaten two cups of the medium size in one sitting (though not the family size haha). I’ve used the family size to haul some home for the next two nights. Ugh, such an addict. Thanks for this – such a smart idea!

    • Yogurtland is where I became OBSESSED with frozen yogurt haha! When I was in LA for a week my fam and I would go there twice a day. When I came back to NC I was heartbroken that we didn’t have any self serve froyo shops out here but soon enough they started popping up. Now there is an organic all natural froyo bar called Yoforia right next to my house. Heaven. 🙂

      • Amazing! I don’t know why but Yogurtland has the best plain tart I’ve ever had. I think it’s so sugary and the texture is like eating snow, in a delicious way. I have yet to find a store-bought one that lives up to the same taste but with your idea and my sister being a food scientist, I am determined to make my own AT HOME YL plain tart concoction.

    • To be honest I always devour them so fast I don’t have to worry about their storage! But they do melt rather quickly so I’d definitely store them in the freezer!

  5. Absolutely amazing how easy this is. And since M is beginning to be a picky eater but still loves yogurt, let’s hope this is a home run! Thanks so much for sharing!

  6. Hi Courtney! Thanks so much for dropping by at my blog and for saying hi. I’m glad you liked my review. The Aveeno Eczema Care Cream is amazing and I’m glad it worked so well for you too. Yes, Cetaphil Restoraderm gives me the same results that the Aveeno one does and I have both of them in my household. If you give the Cetaphil Restoraderm a try, please let me know what you thought of it!
Oh and I loveee frozen yogurt – your frozen yogurt dots look so yummy! I know where most of my local YogenFruz stores are around me hehe
